Hillburne Kennels
This page is a tribute to my mum and dad, Don and Margaret Bovis. As a boy, my father showed Kelpies prior and after World War 2 with much success under the Hillstone prefix. It wasn't under the 1970's that we purchased our first Labrador Merwyn Polly Flinders because she was sired by the great Ch Lindhills Bo Bo Beck. We took her to her first show The Newcastle Agricultural Society and she was placed third out of three. I remember being about 7 years old and sitting in the grand stand clapping like mad as we had won a ribbon. At the same show we met Harry Scott, Lindhills Labradors (and Scotts pies heir). He said if we were serious to come down and he would breed us a show dog. After a few heartbreaks, we purchased Ch Lindhills Hi Teeneet, a beautiful girl in every way who has some great wins. Others include Ch Ponsyne Action Replay who was sired by Ch Camberwarra Gannet, Ch Hillburne Golden Boy, Ch Hillburne State of Mind, Ch Hillburne Carmina, Ch Driftway Archer, Ch Hillburne Roxanne, Ch Driftway Stephanie'Tilly'. Dad purchased Tilly as a puppy from Guy Spagnolo but she was stubborn and did not like to show. Guy offered to show her and she was put in both names. She went on to become a multi Best In Show and Specialty winner.
